CEFTER INAUGURATES RESOURCE MOBILIZATION COMMITTEE

Benue state university’s Centre for food technology and research has inaugurated a resource mobilization committee with a charge on the members to fashion out legitimately appropriate ways of enhancing the financial prowess of the centre to respond to statutory obligations and execute her mandate more conveniently.

Performing the ceremony at the conference hall of the centre’s old office on the main campus of Benue State University, the Centre Leader Dr. Barns Ikyo explained that membership of the committee was carefully selected across specific departments of the university comprising intellectuals and core academics of proven integrity.

Dr. Ikyo assured the committee members that CEFTER would ensure they are provided the right motivation to inspire excellent performance consistent with projected outcomes, timelines and CEFTER objectives. The Centre Leader explained that the idea of a resource mobilization committee was peculiar to the second phase (grant) of the centre and a major requirement for accessing certain facilities from the funding partners therefore CEFTER has high regard for the committee.

Responding on behalf of the committee, the convener (chairman) Dr. Grace Adagba thanked CEFTER Management for the confidence that inspired their appointments assuring CEFTER Leadership of their commitment to deliver on the terms of reference.

Dr. Adagba also called on the committee members to be willing to sacrifice their intellect, time and resources towards the attainment of CEFTER expectations hence their acceptance of the committee membership.

The entre management of CEFTER witnessed the inauguration while other funding partners across the world joined virtually. Highlights of the occasion were the presentation of the citations of all committee members by DR. Ikyo, light refreshments and exchange of virtual pleasantries between committee members and the World Bank’s representative at the inauguration.
