CEFTER TRAINS CONTENT TEAM TO AMPLIFY RESEARCH IMPACT

The Centre for Food Technology and Research (CEFTER), Rev. Fr Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi has trained content team meant to strengthen content creation capacity that would boost the Centre’s visibility across digital and traditional platforms.

The training tagged “My Roles as a Member of the CEFTER Content Creation Team,” was facilitated by Engr. Mark Yôô, Chief Executive Officer of Oxbeemixx Studio approved by CEFTER Management and coordinated through the Office of the Deputy Director, Research and Collaboration.

The programme, CEFTER News Letter learnt brought together members of the Content Creation Team to enhance their skills in line with CEFTER’s communication and outreach mandate as a World Bank–supported Africa Centre of Excellence focused on addressing post-harvest challenges and advancing food technology in West and Central Africa.

It is also learnt that, participants were trained on how strategic content creation supports research dissemination, stakeholder interaction and institutional visibility.

The facilitator, Yôô led hands-on exercises using real CEFTER projects that enabled participants to draft press releases, develop compelling headlines and structure impact-driven stories for web and social media platforms.

The training covered development storytelling, digital engagement strategies and ethical reporting standards that could equip participants with practical tools to communicate research outcomes effectively.

The CEFTER News Letter can authoritatively state that it achieved its objectives with notable outcomes like improved clarity of roles within the Centre’s communication structure, enhanced writing and storytelling skills as well as better alignment of content with institutional goals.

The participants also adopted practical workflows to promote the Centre’s research and innovations online that could position the team for more coordinated and impactful communication.

Speaking, the Acting Director of CEFTER Prof. Ogbene Igbum commended the facilitator for what she described as a practical and engaging training, stressing that effective communication remained critical in connecting research outputs with farmers, policymakers and development partners.

Prof Igbum revealed that the initiative aligned with ongoing capacity-building efforts of the university under the leadership of the 7th Vice Chancellor, Prof. Timothy Alabar and supported broader collaboration with the Benue State Government to advance food security.

She noted that strengthening its Content Creation Team was key to telling CEFTER’s impact stories more effectively and reinforcing its role in driving innovation and development across the region.

Participants, in turn, expressed readiness to deploy the newly acquired skills to ensure timely and professional documentation of the Centre’s activities.
