CEFTER CALLS FOR AGRICULTURAL NETWORK ACROSS AFRICA CENTRES OF EXCELLENCE

Dr. Barns Ikyo, CEFTER Centre Leader has called for network across Africa Centres of Excellence whose mandates anchor on agriculture. According to Dr. Ikyo, the collaboration would help attract more funding to the centres, strengthen their capacities for community service and enhance their global visibilities significantly.

The CEFTER Centre Leader made the call during a presentation at the recently concluded ACE impact regional virtual workshop organized by association of African Universities. The presentation explored the latent potentials and dividends such agricultural collaborations could attract to ACE Centres if effected correctly.

Dr IKyo explained that CEFTER’s collaboration efforts and affinity with consortium of agricultural education and innovation FRON-TRUNNERS in west Africa and CERSA has attracted huge benefits to the Centre like the sponsorship of seven (7) students from CEFTER on full scholarship to Togo and another student from CEFTER on another full PhD scholarship in UK among other benefits.

He advised ACE centres on Agric to be dynamic in the delivery of their centre mandates so as to attract external funding, strengthen delivery dynamics and enhance their operational philosophies for the achievement of expected project outcomes.
