CEFTER INAUGURATES COMMITTEE FOR CASSAVA VALUE CHAIN ENHANCEMENT PROJECT (CASSAVACEP)

CEFTER Centre Leader, Dr. Barns Ikyo has inaugurated a committee to design the cassava value chain enhancement project (CASSAVACEP) to help improve the market worth of cassava. The Centre Leader explained that the need for the committee was thoroughly discussed in the 18th meeting of CEFTER management and approval granted accordingly hence the inauguration of the committee.

Responding on behalf of the seven-man committee, the chairman Dr. Sylvester Adejo accepted the responsibility and assured the centre of their preparedness to deliver on the terms of references captured in the official communication that inspired their membership on the committee. The Chairman appreciated CEFTER management for her confidence in the committee members explaining that on their part, the committee members would do everything possible to justify that confidence.

The committee’s terms of reference for the assignment are to design the cassava value chain enhancement project and to outline the aims and objectives of the project with a scope covering West and Central Africa. A statement by the Head administration - CEFTER Secretary, Dr. Scholastica Banka explained that the Committee has two months from the date of inauguration to complete its assignment.
